Welcome to the online home of historic St.Thomas Anglican Church, located in beautiful Chilliwack, British Columbia! We are a vibrant, community church thriving on love and celebration for Christ. All are welcome!
St. Thomas has a rich local history and has been a staple of downtown Chilliwack for over a hundred and forty years. Balanced on four canoes belonging either to local Sto:lo or Port Douglas aboriginal paddlers, our first church was carried by water down Harrison Lake and the Fraser River to Chilliwack Landing. St Thomas was the first building in downtown Chilliwack.
In 1897 a second, larger church was built on five corners site, and remains in use today. The inside of the church was made to resemble Noah’s Ark, turned upside down, and features gorgeous beams, woodwork and vivid stained glass windows. To learn more about the history of the church, visit our history page!
The entire church was moved to a new home between First Avenue and Gore Avenue, at Young Street, in 1909.
Come join us for some of our many church events! With educational programs, dancing, anonymous groups, soup kitchen, family suppers and more, there is always something going on at the church. Take a look at our Calendar page to get an overview of everything going on.
